To go back to the generics issue I take salagen for the dryness of Sjogren's Syndrome. Recently I was given the generic and it did not work well at all. It took longer to feel any effect from hte pill at all. When I finally noticed it beginning to work it made me sweat. My face became flushed and I felt hot. It was as if all of the active ingredient in the pill kicked in at the same time and so the effect was extreme with the generic.
After so many years taking the brand name since salagen was still on patent I am well used to the effects of the drug and this was not at all normal. I would actually call it an adverse effect.
The drug company said it was tested but I doubt it was on tested on older people who were familiar with the drug.
I have tried both losec and nexium in the past and found that the effects those drugs had were very similar. I still take losed in the generic form omeprazole to protect my stomach from the NSAID Voltaren which I take
